Expedition Africa 2018 – Team Couples Retreat

A first hand account of Expedition Africa 2018 in Namaqualand and Cederberg Mountains. Team Couples Retreat consisting of two married couples: Didi and Tim Deane and Julia and Chris Fisher. The team raced, non-stop for 122 hours to complete the 560km Expedition Adventure Race in 14th place out of 52 starting teams .

Expedition Africa 2015 – Team Olympus

A first hand account of Expedition Africa 2015 in Swaziland from Team Olympus consisting of Tim Deane, Alex Wagner, Julia Fisher and Chris Fisher. Expedition Africa 2014 – Team Olympus

A summary of team Olympus’ 2014 Expedition Africa 575km Adventure race on the Wild Coast of South Africa 26-31 May 2014. Team members: Time Deane, Alex Wagner, Julia Fisher and Chris Fisher raced hard, non-stop for 4 days and 13 hours to finish in 6th position amongst a very strong field of 40 teams in total. Race honours went to Seagate from New Zealand.

WCAD 5 – Theewaters 50/100km Adventure Race – 12 Oct 2013

The 5th and final race of the 2013 WCAD Series took place in the Villiersdorp region with the start and finish at Theewaters Sport Club. Long course teams were treated to some breathtaking scenery as they passed through Hottentots Holland and Groenlandberg reserves.

The’ Weather Gods’ chose, once more, to turn this epic challenge into a battle against the elements but competitors showed amazing grit and determination to get themselves through this beautiful course and most of them even seemed to keep their sense of humor intact! Well done to everyone who pitched up and special congrats to those who got to the finish line!!!

The event includes trekking, kayaking and mountain biking through some of the most majestic mountains in the Theewaters/Grabouw region. It is a non-stop race open to teams of two or four. Gravity Festival 30km Adventure Race by WCAD

Highlights from the WCAD 30km Adventure Sprint Race which took place on 17 August at this year’s Gravity Adventure Festival in Kleinmond. Competitors had to deal with some extreme winds and sporadic showers as they navigated their way around the scenic course.

The route consisted of a 3km run followed by 20km MTB and 4 km hike in the mountains and finished off with the RUSH adventure zone including a rope crossing over the Palmiet river and short tubing section on the river.

The 30km took anywhere from 2.5 to 4.5 hours to complete and was a test for novice Adventure Racers and their gear.

Expedition Africa 2013 – Capestorm WCAD Racing

What is it really like to race an Expedition length Adventure Race? This movie takes you through some of the highs and lows experienced by team Capestorm WCAD Racing during Expedition Africa 2013. Team members; Julia Fisher, Quintin Smith, Grant Ross and Chris Fisher headed out on another adventure together, this time in the Drakensburg mountains of South Africa. The team finished the incredible 550km course in 9th place after 128 hours of racing amongst a very strong field including 6 of the top 20 teams in the world. Race honours went to team Haglofs Silva from Sweden.
