Expedition Africa 2013 – Capestorm WCAD Racing

What is it really like to race an Expedition length Adventure Race? This movie takes you through some of the highs and lows experienced by team Capestorm WCAD Racing during Expedition Africa 2013. Team members; Julia Fisher, Quintin Smith, Grant Ross and Chris Fisher headed out on another adventure together, this time in the Drakensburg mountains of South Africa. The team finished the incredible 550km course in 9th place after 128 hours of racing amongst a very strong field including 6 of the top 20 teams in the world. Race honours went to team Haglofs Silva from Sweden.

WCAD Series 4 Palmiet Adventure Race

The 4th Leg of the WCAD Series took place in the Kleinmond/Palmiet region on 28 July 2012. There was a short (60km) and long (100km) course option to test all who took part. Highlights from the race included an awesome whitewater rafting leg down the Palmiet River, Hiking parts of the breathtaking Oudebosch hiking trail, a MTB rally stage and beautiful riding through the Kogelberg Nature Reserve.

The short course was won by “The A-team” consisting of husband and wife combo; Richard and Annalize Thomas, who have now secured two victories in as many races. The long course spoils went to Graham Bird and Yolande Devilliers of team “Merrell Adventure Addicts” who also beat all male pairs taking part.

Expedition Africa 2012: Capestorm WCAD Racing

What is it really like to race an Expedition length Adventure Race? This movie takes you through some of the highs and lows experienced by team Capestorm WCAD Racing during Expedition Africa 2012. In May 2012, team members; Julia Thomas, Quintin Smith, Grant Ross and Chris Fisher battle the landscape, the elements and sleep deprivation for 500km through the Eastern Cape of South Africa. The team finished the 500km race in 5th place in 86 hours, during which time they only got 4hours of sleep.
